Employer role
The Mozambican employer must demonstrate the position cannot be filled locally and meet registration obligations with authorities. Foreign companies establishing branches or joint ventures must be legally registered in Mozambique.

The process may take 4–12 weeks depending on document completeness and sector. Plan well ahead of your intended start date.
Application process (summary)
A work visa combines authorization from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MITESS) with an entry visa issued by a Mozambican consular post, or regularization through the National Migration Service (SENAMI) after arrival, depending on your case.
Typical order: (1) job offer and company registration in Mozambique; (2) work authorization request to MITESS; (3) visa application at the consulate in your country of origin; (4) after entry, registration and DIRE if staying beyond 30 days.
